'Governance and Control'
Brian Scharper
Then word 'governance' in the English Dictionary means to 'regulate or control', and with the growth of any company comes the need for change to ensure checks and balances are in place to regulate the rate of growth and control the direction the business is headed.

We have now reached this point globally within 'The Cleanevent Group', and as such have identified the need to have more governance and control over the way we do business globally.

I have been fortunate enough to be selected to drive this process commencing 1st May 07. Although this process and my role is in its infancy at this time and will be constantly evolving, the proposal to drive all aspects of our business through the Cleanevent Management System is absolutely critical to future success.

Initially the process will require some major IT modifications to our existing system, however when this has been developed internally, there will be a phase to develop training manuals which will explain the changes and document the procedures; a further phase of training at all levels throughout our business globally so all will understand the changes; followed by constant auditing, updating and policing to ensure full compliance.

Due to the enormity of this change, it will not happen overnight but obviously needs to happen sooner rather than later.

I don't know at this point that the organisation knows exactly where we want this process to take us but I am looking forward to the challenge and am 100% sure the changes will be for the betterment of our business.

Talk to you soon.
