End of the UK event season and time to take a breath and have a quick reflection on the very busy past few months.

June is strawberries and cream with pints of pimms and lemonade – June is The Championships at Wimbledon. Yet another great event by the team led by Paul ‘Digger’ Barrett who was able supported in the night shift by Craig Madigan, Mandy Mead who helped out in recruitment and Clive Lynch made sure everything went back into its proper place at the conclusion of the event.

June is also the beginning of the busy festival season. Scott Booth and his event team certainly had his hands full looking after the famous Glastonbury toilets. This year’s festival will be long remembered for the large storm and subsequent flooding that marred the opening day and left a legacy of mud for the rest of the event. Tough conditions but a great result produced by the team.

Scott then moved his team to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix that was held in July. Cleanevent was awarded the litter picking contract this year on top of the toilet contract that we have successfully run for the past 2 years. Ably supported by George Spring and his team of court coverers kicking on from the tennis at Wimbledon the litter picking teams produced a fabulous result.

George also headed up a team to go north to Manchester to look after the Saudi Arabian Festival at Heaton Park. How do you get rid of camel do do, George?

A number of smaller races where also held at Silverstone during the past few months and Dan Thompson turned his hand from cleaning the Wembley Pavilion to looking after motor racing enthusiasts. Dan was well supported by Gleicy Valle and Charles Jesus.  All are now converted petrol heads.

Nigel Jones was also busy jumping between venues that included Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, Fulham Football Club, Wembley Pavilion, post clean at Reading Festival, Kenwood House …….. the swiss army knife of Venue Cleaning Managers!

Michael Brown managed to stretch out on the beach at Eastbourne supposedly looking after the cleaning at the Ladies qualifying round at the Eastbourne Tennis Club. Mike is now revelling in the new challenge of looking after Fulham Football Club at Craven Cottage and the training ground at Motspur Park.

July and August was focussed on music - Marble Hill, Kenwood House, Leeds and Reading Festivals were all successfully serviced. Yours truly got a guernsey at the Leeds Festival where I was given tremendous support by Scott Hughes and a cast of thousands without whom I would surely still be there picking up litter! Another great result at Reading by that ever reliable Scott Booth.

Well football has kicked off and our latest addition to our prestigious stable of venues is Chelsea Football Club. Looks like they will be hard to stop this season but I am sure our other clubs will have something to say about that!
