The Cleanevent Group... in training!
Recruitment within the Cleanevent Group has been highly focused on major events. Our success in returning to the Melbourne Showgrounds in September means that our attraction, selection and retention of employees commenced somewhat earlier than other years. This is already proving to be advantageous in light of Melbourne Cup Carnival fast approaching and the fantastic news of our large involvement with the Commonwealth Games in 2006. Another benefit of the return of the Show has meant that our training strategies have commenced much earlier and that we are really able to invest in our casual labour pool through offering ongoing work from September until March/April 2006.
Another major focus for our employees is the selection and securing of highly proficient supervisors to manage our casual labour pool. With the number of events that we are going to be involved with in the next six months, we have also recognised the need to invest in a uniform approach to training of our supervisors, with monthly training sessions commencing in November. Areas to be covered in these programs include; people management, motivation of staff and training in the use of a variety of electrical and mechanical cleaning equipment. Through investing in our supervisors, we hope to have a number of highly skilled individuals at the conclusion of the Games who could potentially be the future Venue/Event Managers of the Group.
CleanDomain continues to prosper with our success in securing 530 Collins Street and Epping Plaza. 530 Collins Street is a premier Melbourne office building, namely the Australian Stock Exchange, and it seems fitting that our first venture into offices is such a site. On the back of our success with a number of Gandel shopping centres that we undertook the cleaning services for on July 1st, we are also involved with the Pacific Shopping Centre in Epping Plaza. At all CleanDomain and Cleanevent sites our eligible staff are given the opportunity to undertake Certificate 2 and 3 in Asset Maintenance, which is just another way we are committed to investing in our people.
