Welcome back to another issue of Team Talk!
Our entire calendar is packed with entertainment and sports of all shapes and sizes. We have concluded some of our most prestigious events and are gearing up for both year ending activity and season starting action. Our operations department has shouldered the workload with their typical dedicated effort for which we are very grateful.
Since our last issue in July we have concluded another season of baseball with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays at Tropicana Field. The Devil Rays improved this year on the field and our venue division paralleled that success. Thanks go out to John Girard and his staff for their hard work.
Another baseball team we are proud to count as a client is the Frisco Roughriders. This AA affiliate of the Texas Rangers plays at the Dr. Pepper/7-Up Ballpark in Frisco, Texas. This ballpark won awards last year as the best new ballpark in the minor leagues. We won the award to clean this award winning venue last winter and Johnathan Hampton and his crew did an excellent job keeping the standard of cleanliness high. We are looking forward to continued growth in this marketplace thanks to the solid job and good start we have in Frisco.
Other entertainment venues throughout the United States are the circuit of ClearChannel amphitheaters for which we have provided cleaning services this season. Some of the largest tours and biggest crowd in the country are hosted at such marquee locations as Chicago, Boston, Charlotte, Manassas, West Palm Beach, Sacramento, Seattle, and Tampa. There is no bigger name in outdoor entertainment than ClearChannel. We are honored to have played a part in putting on the show this year and look forward to growing this segment of the business in 2005!
Events division is wrapping up an excellent season of motor sport competition. We have just come from an exciting finish at Talladega which placed Dale Earnhardt Jr. at the top of the Race for the Cup in overall point standings. The amount of fan support this single driver receives may account for nearly 75% of the waste generated at each racetrack when one factors in beer cans and merchandise wrappers. Seriously, there is nothing like the cheer that went up from the stands at Talladega when Junior crossed the line number one. We were pleased to pick up the trash at Chicagoland, Bristol, Kentucky and Nashville along the past couple of months. The sheer numbers of fans and the amount of effort it takes to serve these tracks is truly incredible.
A signature event featured in another article is the US Open tennis tournament. We were pleased to provide service to this Grand Slam event and thank Peter Cooper for his outstanding contribution to the overall effort. Do not miss the write up.
We are gearing up for the start of another NBA basketball season for the Orlando Magic with hopes for a better ending than last year. One good thing about finishing last is a high draft pick. The Magic have high hopes for an improved team this year. Eric Johnson and his staff are poised to perform at championship level.
We have added two new arena accounts to our group, Richmond Coliseum and Silver Spurs arena here in Florida. Both start operations this month so we will look forward to reporting positive results in future issues.
As always, we are indebted to both our clients for allowing us to perform for them and our employees for the hard work and dedication. Thank you both!
