The Event season is always an exciting time at Cleanevent. It creates lots of energy and we renew long-term friendships and business relationships. The EKKA was no exception with a great team under Jonathon Tunny and Vivian Edwardes, the President. We look forward to working with the two Tim’s – Bamford and Greek plus Warwick Matthews, and Ashley Davies from the AGPC down at Phillip Island in October (please let it not rain…at least not like last year!) and the VRC team of Dale, Sue, Rebecca, Terry and John – is it really only five weeks away! Lots of planning by BJ and Belinda, and great execution especially at the EKKA by Steff and Ken – Thank you.

Great to see the South Melbourne Markets get off to such a strong start. Congratulations to BA and Jim Collins for all the preliminary work and to Kris Scharper for settling in so well. There is a noticeable difference already.

The Change Management process is well underway. Chaired by Bernadine Mynott, we are making visible differences which will be ever more apparent as time goes on. Running in parallel has been a study on Quality Accreditation and the process to achieve certification by mid 2005. Driven initially by Shelley and Bernie, I am very hopeful of this making a significant difference to our business over coming years.

We are also in the midst of a real drive to build our business here in Australia. Julie Sugden has been a fast learner here in Melbourne and it has been great to get some consulting assistance from Bruce Smith (ex UK and now a resident of Balmain NSW) to accelerate the process. As I say to anyone who will listen, new business is everyone’s responsibility – so if you’re reading this and know of an opportunity, contact me!

I should also mention the number of Australian staff who have stepped up and gone over to assist the boys in the UK over their busy event period, let alone the start ups at Fulham and Tottenham. These have included Hugh Carey, Andy Leonard, Jason Bremner, Ken Mayes, Wayne Taylor, Paul Burbidge, Desley Harry, Dee Scharper, Patrica Cacic, Scott Wiley, Rob Ness, Erin Charles, Sally Maas and Kiri Fitopoulos. Thank you all for your contribution – I know the UK team is very grateful.

Lastly I welcome John Anderson to our midst. He brings some great ideas and vision – and given the support he so obviously enjoys from Craig and the Jagen team, he will have a very positive long term benefit to the Australian business.
