Ken Mayes Regional Manager, Queensland
G'day from sunny Queensland. The summer here has been almost 'too hot' for us Queenslanders, with many days passing 40 on the old thermometer. Some staff are recovering from heat stroke and have been putting their hands up for work down south just to escape the heat. You really know it is hot when that happens!
There are lots of congratulations that need to be given, firstly to Doomben Race Course for being awarded the Melbourne Cup Race Day in Brisbane. This has been a long time coming and we are looking forward to providing as much assistance as we can to help the entire Doomben team put on a show that will be second to none. The efforts by both Sean Kelk’s team and Cleanevent at this venue has worked extremely well and demonstrates what can be achieved when both parties work closely together with one focus, namely providing a high level of service to the punter who walks through the door. Well done to all concerned.
Congratulations also go to the newly appointed CEO for the Royal National Association, Jonathan Tunny. Jonathan has been acting in the caretaker roll for a while and it was very pleasing to see him appointed to the position. All of us here at Cleanevent wish him the very best and we look forward to working in close association with him and his well balanced team in the future.
It is great to see Stephanie Wade back on deck following her stint of maternity leave, getting back to the fold going full tilt is normal for her and she will slip right back into action, welcome back.
