The Carnival is over – not quite!! Just when you thought it was safe to go to the Grand Prix, the Autumn Carnival has arrived!

Australia’s best horses return to Royal Flemington for the Newmarket Handicap and the Australian Cup. On the back of seven meetings in seven weeks, Australia’s premier selection venue staff are primed to deliver the goods. Shirl will one again head up the weights, but is looking sleek after a couple of weeks in the paddock at Optus Oval! The ‘Greys’ will once again dominate the field with bad boy Brown, Elaine, Joe and Desi all favouring that hair color.

Crumpy is still getting over the Spring Carnival so he has been spelled for the week. They and the support staff will ensure a carnival to rival the other horse power event over the weekend.

On a more serious note, I’m pleased at the way we are working with John French and the Rowlands team – it can only further benefit the VRC and racecourse.
