The last few months have been full of activity at the Cleanevent USA offices. The high profile events season has concluded with the end of the 2003 NASCAR season. Next year will see a dramatic change in recognition as the national sponsorship shifts from Winston Cup to Nextel. Cleanevent will implement a similar ‘new look’ with a renewed focus on customer service. We have spent much of the past month planning toward that goal with our Event Managers and their staff of Supervisors. Many of the suggested improvements we are implementing have been generated from input from our clients.

In our other major market, we have started to see increased activity at venues. Even though baseball season is over (and our beloved Yankees lost in the World Series to the lowly Florida Marlins!), our arena accounts are in full swing with basketball and hockey activity. We will also be busy with some college football bowl games this year. We will certainly perform our usual high level of service for these games, but we cannot clean up the mess of the College Bowl Championship Series (BCS) rankings.

Looking back a couple of months since the last issue, I traveled to Australia to conduct 120 Day Review meetings in our Melbourne office. As a first time visitor, I was impressed with the energy of the people and the beauty of the land. We are planning another review in March 2004 and I look forward to that trip (with the exception of that 15 hour plane ride).

Another reason for anticipation to a return to Melbourne is to report more positive results from the USA operation. We have started to see some upward trends in our monthly results. This is the direct result of our daily focus on performance and accountability. As we work to produce sustained progress in these areas we are optimistic in our outlook for 2004.

We all take this chance to wish all of you the very happiest of holidays and best wishes for a prosperous New Year!
